Big Smile in GYMBOREE!!
Joining Gymboree PLAY&LEARN program was a whole new experience for my two year old son. I had tried some other kids' classes for him in the past but all ended up with him running away from the group. He also seemed not very satisfied when the playground was not very spatious where he cannot run around freely. When we first started attending Gymboree classes, he was not much different and didn't stick to a group for a minute while the teacher is singing and dancing with other kids. He runs away wherever he feels like, but that did not bother me much as he still looked very happy playing in a large gym with a variety of play equipment and there were some other kids who are playing freely like him as well. Looking at him happy was satisfying me enough and I was taking it easy that he will learn slowly playing in a group. A few months passed and he did show some changes in himself, he started singing a bit of the regular songs in the class, and another few months later he turned into a big fan of the dances! Now he even shows me the dance at home, and we sing together his favorite song along with the dance. It looks like he is catching some of the English & Chinese phrases the teacher is saying and I believe this is a very good experience for him to be exposed to foreign languages overseas. I guess it's helping all the moms when kids learn the "put it away~" phrase in Gymboree and really enjoy putting away their toys which is one of the first manners we have to teach them when they're little. Gymboree can be very educational while kids enjoy learning new things and I am happy to see his big smiles in the class every week!
